OTTAWA, Sep 5th, 2018 – The Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation (ODBF) is pleased to announce that they are being recognized as the 2018 Outstanding Philanthropic Group at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Ottawa Philanthropy Awards. The 24th annual Philanthropy Awards Gala will be held on Wednesday, November 14th, 2018 at the National Arts Centre, Canada Room.

The AFP is the largest international association of fundraising professionals in the world, with 3,500 members residing in Canada alone. The AFP promotes the value of philanthropy and encourages organizations to practice ethical and effective fundraising. The awards recognize those who have made a positive impact on the city of Ottawa through their philanthropic contributions. They encourage the growth and association of Ottawa-based fundraisers and also promote philanthropy and fundraising in the public arena.

The ODBF was established in 2003 and to-date, through its annual fundraising, it has raised $4.5 million, benefiting 49 local charities. The Foundation acknowledges the amazing generosity of its dedicated donors and shares this award with all of the teams and paddlers who have helped raise funds.
