Congratulations to the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation
Outstanding Philanthropic Group of 2018!
The Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation (ODBF) was established in 2003 with a mission to help build, strengthen and enhance community life in Ottawa by raising, managing and distributing funds to charitable organizations.
To-date, the ODBF has raised $4.5 million, benefiting 50 local charities. Past recipients have included established charities such as The Royal, CHEO, and The Boys and Girls Club. The ODBF has also supported organizations who were in their infancy such as the Debra Dynes Family House, Community Laundry Co-op, and Helping with Furniture, who have grown into established charities providing vital services to our community.
The Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa is an organization that the ODBF proudly supported for six years. Over that time $600,000 in funding was provided to help expand the Downtown Drop-in Centre, to provide support to thousands of youth in our community through services such as a Health Clinic, Food Bank, and Housing as well as Harm Reduction, Education and Young Women’s Space Programs.
Please join the AFP in celebrating the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation on Wednesday, November 14 at the National Arts Centre (NAC). Ticket sales are open for one more week – purchase your table or tickets today!
