ODBF is proud to announce it has reached its 2020 fundraising goal of $100,000! This year has been full of unprecedented challenges and we are simply in awe of the resilience and generosity of our community. As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving we wanted to share this exciting news with you and take a moment to reflect together on what an incredible year it has been.
We ran multiple campaigns this year including the two cornerstones of our annual fundraising efforts the ODBF Shiver & Giver and ODBF Pledge Challenge. We launched the All Aboard campaign which supported local COVID-19 relief efforts, and the immediate needs of three integral charities providing essential services to thousands within the National Capital Region – Carefor Health & Community Services, Ottawa Food Bank and Debra Dynes Family House. The All Aboard campaign was highlighted by support from Mayor Jim Watson and memorable performances from local musicians Dave Kalil and Astrl Travlr. Coming along side us were our fantastic media partners Rogers Cable 22 and Live 88.5 who gave a voice to our collective fundraising efforts. We are so grateful for the generosity of partners Scotiabank, Waterloo Brewing and Scrivens Insurance & Investment Solutions for their matching gift donations. We also thank our community partner Gabriel Pizza who support our efforts with the delicious “DBP”, truly a pizza with a purpose!
As our 2020 campaign comes to an end and we set to launch our 2021 campaign ODBF wants to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of our dedicated fundraisers, generous donors, and our community partners.
