OTTAWA DRAGON BOAT FOUNDATION MAKES $3000 DONATION TO NA’AMAT OTTAWA

The Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation (ODBF) is pleased to present Na’amat Ottawa with a $3,000 donation supporting their tremendous work in the community.

The ODBF’s donation will support Na’amat Ottawa’s School Supplies for Kids project which fills an unmet need, providing children living in 7 local area women’s domestic violence shelters with backpacks full of school supplies. Typically, battered women arrive at shelters with little or no money or personal possessions, struggling to provide even the most basic necessities that children require for school, such as pencils and notebooks.

Na’amat Ottawa’s goal is to provide 166 school supply packages to be distributed among seven Ottawa area shelters. They have compiled 3 age-appropriate packages designed to meet the specific needs of Kindergaten to Grade 2, Grade 3-6 and Grade 7 and up. The 3 package types are so that the shelters are prepared to equip children of any age upon their arrival.
