ODBF is proud to donate $3,770 in support of Ottawa Riverkeeper. Ottawa Riverkeeper works towards protecting, promoting, and improving the health of the Ottawa River. Their group of dedicated volunteers works towards combating issues that threaten the Ottawa River such as nuclear waste, sewage overflow, and protecting endangered species. Ottawa Riverkeeper’s ultimate goal is to maintain a swimmable, drinkable, and fishable Ottawa River for all residents to enjoy.
This donation will help to fund various initiatives that will help residents to better understand and care for the Ottawa River. This includes programs such as the Youth Water Leaders Program that educated youth on the various environmental issues that threaten the health of the Ottawa River, as well as the Beachkeeper Program that teaches children about how they can protect the Ottawa River and take action.
